    En este trabajo se presenta el patrimonio arqueológico que forma partedel legado histórico de la explotación antigua de las minas de la Faja PiríticaIbérica. La extensión de estos depósitos de sulfuros y los grandes volúmenesde minerales de plata y cobre, convirtieron a estas minas en el distrito de mayorenvergadura del mundo antiguo. Las recientes explotaciones contemporánease intervenciones arqueológicas llevadas a cabo, han permitido que conozcamossu legado histórico, las técnicas de minería y metalurgia, los ingenios quese usaron en el desagüe, los poblados mineros, las necrópolis y toda unaabundante cultura material (epigrafía, monedas, cerámica, etc.), que son elreejo de la importancia de estas minas en la antigüedad.

    This work presents the archaeological heritage that is part of the historicallegacy of the ancient exploitation in the mines of the Iberian Pyrite Belt. Theextension of these sulphide deposits and the giants volumes of silver andcopper ores turned these mines in the largest mining district of the ancientworld. The contemporary exploitations and recent archaeological interventionscarried out have allowed us to know their historical legacy, the mining andmetallurgy techniques, the machines and tools that were used in the drain, themining settlement, the cemeteries and an abundant material culture (epigraphy,coins, pottery, etc.), which are the true reection of the importance of thesemines in antiquity.
