    Having as main objective the definition and the characterization of the industrial landscape of the Iberian Pyrit Belt mines, the S. Domingos Mine is a case of study and an example located on the Portuguese part of this metalliferous region. In this sense, the brands of mining and industrialization are ìdentified with reference to the different historical cycles, the valorization of the mining heritage and the formation of the cultural landscape, taking into account the effects on the territory of the capitalist economic model. About the landscape identification, it used a methodology based on the international documentation produced by UNESCO, ICOMOS, the Council of Europe and TICCIH. Defining the different typologies of the cultural landscape, was reinterpreted the case of the S. Domingos Mine, showing the role of the public movement and citizenship that ted to his Portuguese classification as a Joint Public Interest. As a result of the reinterpretation, an integrated model of mining regeneration is presented to enable a process of safeguarding the values identified in the classification of cultural heritage in 2013. This model, by its totality, departs from the theoretical assumptions of other heritage streams until now developed in Portugal.

Definidas as diferentes tlpologias da palsagem cultural reinterpretou-se o caso da Mina de S. Domingos, mostrando a papel do movimento públìco e de cidadania que levou â classificaçäo portúguesa da æferìda Mina como Conjunto de lnteresse Público. Como resultado da reinterpretação apresenta-se um modelo integrado de regeneraçao mfnelra destinado a viabilizar um processo de salvaguarda dos valores identificados na cłassificação do património cultural em 2013. Este modelo, peło seu carácter total, efasta-se dos pressupostos teóricos de outras correntes patrimoniais até agora desenvolvidas em Portugal.
