    Los Sistemas de Información Turística (SIT) constituyen una herramienta esencial para la gestión de los destinos turísticos en la actualidad, ya que los mismos contribuyen a elevar los valores más auténticos de las regiones o zonas turísticas dentro de un destino, incluyendo sus recursos y atractivos. También incluyen los principales referentes de la oferta de servicios y productos de interés para el visitante y contribuyen a la generación de conocimiento e información fidedigna en tiempo real y oportuno sobre la oferta turístico-recreativa de manera holística y detallada. Estos sistemas se convierten en un instrumento para la toma de decisiones en cada una de las etapas del proceso de planeación y administración del turismo. Esta investigación aborda los referentes teóricos asociados al desarrollo y diseño de Sistemas de Información Turística y se sustenta en la utilización de métodos teóricos como el histórico-lógico, el análisis-síntesis, el inductivo-deductivo y el análisis bibliográfico. Esta investigación contribuirá a la visualización y futuro aprovechamiento de los Sistemas de Información Turística como entes promotores de la oferta turístico-recreativa de un destino y para la toma de decisiones por parte de las entidades gestoras sobre las posibles acciones de ordenamiento y planificación territorial que ejecutar para propiciar un desarrollo turístico sostenible.

    The Tourist Information Systems (SIT) constitute an essential tool for the management of tourist destinations at present, they contribute to raise the most authentic values ​​of the regions or tourist areas within a destination, including its resources and attractions. They also include the main references of the offer of services and products of interest to the visitor and contribute to the generation of knowledge and reliable information in real time and timely on the tourist-recreational offer in a holistic and detailed manner. These systems become an instrument for decision making in each of the stages of the tourism planning and administration process. This research addresses the theoretical references associated with the development and design of Tourist Information Systems, based on the use of theoretical methods such as the historical-logical, the analysis-synthesis, the inductive-deductive and the bibliographic analysis. This research will contribute to the visualization and future use of the Tourist Information Systems, as promoters of the tourist-recreational offer of a destination and to the decision making by the managing entities, on the possible actions of ordering and territorial planning, to be executed depending on the tourism development.
