  • The essay reflects on the concepts of “jurisdiction” and “pluralism” according to the most recent developments in Italian historiography on the Early Modern Age, identifying some thematic paths and pointing out their multiple interpretative profiles. It considers certain areas of jurisdiction’s activity, highlights its pervasiveness and fragmentation, showing how it is an essential key to understanding modernity.
