    Esta investigación presenta el diagnóstico del perfil de estilos de pensamiento de los estudiantes de las especialidades Biología y Química del Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas (IPC) como elemento predictor para la planificación de estrategias didácticas que permitan un aprendizaje significativo en el área de las ciencias naturales, atendiendo a las características biopsicosociales de la población. La investigación es de campo, con un muestreo no probabilístico, intencional y accidental. Esta permitió determinar el perfil modal de tipo 1-2-2-2 con el cuestionario propuesto por Gardié (2000), para 36 estudiantes ubicados entre las cohortes de ingreso 2011 a 2015. Este perfil se caracteriza por el pensamiento reflexivo, analítico, cuantitativo, organizado y secuencial. Se recomienda a los docentes de las especialidades mencionadas incorporar estrategias que propicien la creatividad, el pensamiento crítico, el desarrollo de habilidades afectivas, humanísticas, propias de los cuadrantes C y D para potenciar el uso integral de los cuatro cuadrantes cerebrales.

    This research presents the diagnosis of the profile of thought styles of the students of the Biology and Chemistry specialties of the Pedagogical Institute of Caracas (IPC) as a predictor element for the planning of didactic strategies that allow significant learning in the area of natural sciences, taking into account the biopsychosocial characteristics of the population. This is a field research, with a non-probabilistic sampling, intentional and accidental. This allowed to determine the modal profile of type 1-2-2-2 with the questionnaire proposed by Gardié (2000), for 36 students located between the income cohorts from 2011 to 2015. This profile is characterized by reflective, analytical, and quantitative thinking, organized and sequential. It is recommended to the teachers of the aforementioned specialties to incorporate strategies that foster creativity, critical thinking, the development of affective, humanistic abilities, characteristic of quadrants C and D to enhance the integral use of the four brain quadrants.
