Resumen de Cabral, Tordesillas & Cia.

Paulo Antonio Paranaguá

  • The Globo television network seems to have reproduced Hollywood's studio system. This fact should lead to a more comprehensive understanding of the industrial model such as it was applied in Latin American film production. Furthermore, it points to a discussion about modernity and film in the Brazilian context. Even if the modernist movement evolved in a separate, yet parallel way in regard to Brazilian film, a long term perspective reveals a filiation between Cinema Novo and the abstract writers of the twenties and thirties.
