La presente investigación pretende revisar la vigencia de la colonialidad arraigada en la representación visual de las trabajadoras del hogar peruanas y sus empleadorxs. A partir de la recopilación de varias prácticas artísticas y utilizando las imágenes, no como meros transmisores de información, sino como dispositivos capaces de crear nuevos significados. Para así develar los mecanismos coloniales que subyacen a nivel simbólico en la representación visual del vínculo de las trabajadoras del hogar y sus empleadores.

This investigation pretends to review how female domestic household worker's visual representation is still driven by a present colonialism. By the analysis of the colonial mechanisms that underlay -in a symbolic and politic manner- in the visual representation of the relationship given between the houseworkers and the employees. We will be working along with the visual studies theories to appropriate and analyze archive images in order to use them -not as mere transmitters of information- but as devices capable of creating new meanings. And with the theories of decolonial feminism, we will investigate how these hegemonic codes are inserted into the collective visual imaginary and define the representation of the female domestic workers in Peru.
