Blastoma pleuropulmonar. Reporte de un caso

    Presentamos el caso de un niño de tres años de edad que presenta datos de dificultad respiratoria. Se realiza una radiografía y una tomografía de tórax en las que se evidenció una gran masa tumoral que ocupaba el hemitórax izquierdo, desplazando el mediastino y el diafragma. Se realizó tratamiento quirúrgico con resección total del tumor. El reporte anatomopatológico fue de blastoma pleuropulmonar tipo III. No existe registro de esta patología en Ecuador. Se comunica el primer caso confirmado y agregado en el Registro Internacional de Blastoma Pleuropulmonar.

    We present the case of a 3-year-old boy with respiratory distress. A chest x-ray and tomography were performed, showing a large tumor mass that occupied the left hemithorax, moving the mediastinum to the right and the diaphragm downward. Surgical treatment was total resection of the tumor. The pathological report was of type III pleuropulmonary blastoma. There is no registry of this pathology in Ecuador. The first confirmed and added case is reported in the International Registry of Pleuropulmonary Blastoma
