    En la primavera de 1965 espeleólogos del C.E. Alcoy (1965-1979) y del C.E. Alicante (1979-1988), dieron a conocer al colectivo espeleológico una cavidad singular cuya surgencia se muestra en mitad de una pared de 300 m de altura, la cueva de Los Chorros. Después de los años transcurridos solo quedó un plano y algunos estudios dispersos que permanecían en el olvido, hicieron mucho trabajo, pero quedaba mucho más por hacer. EXTOPOCIEN se creó en 1993 por los grupos que en un momento de su historia trabajaron en la cavidad. A esos pioneros se les unieron muchos más colectivos y en la actualidad seguimos creciendo con un solo objetivo: aportar conocimientos para completar la historia geomorfológica y el desarrollo de la cavidad. Desde entonces han pasado 53 años y lo que vamos descubriendo sorprende.

    In the spring of 1965 speleologists from C.E. Alcoy (1965-1979) and C.E. Alicante (1979-1988) discover a singular cavity which upwelling was in the middle of a 300 m high wall, the cave known as “Los Chorros”. The first explorations performed from 1965 to 1988 gave a plan of the cave and some scattered studies that remained practically forgotten. It was a lot of work they did, but much more that remained to be done. EXTOPOCIEN was created in 1993 by all those who at some point in their history worked in the cavity. Many others joined these pioneering groups until today, but always with the same objective: to provide knowledge for completing the geomorphological history and the development of the cavity. Since then 53 years have passed, but the information that this cave brings to researchers is always surprising
