    Las razones, algunas opuestas o contradictorias, que se esgrimieron durante la campaña en favor del Brexit se mezclan y confunden al tratar de explicar la decisión tomada: el odio al elitismo tecnocrático y burocrático de Bruselas, el miedo ante la inmigración masiva, la recuperación de la soberanía por parte de los británicos y el control autóctono de las principales decisiones económicas… Unos rechazan las políticas austeras y neoliberales de la Comisión Europea, mientras que otros reprueban su excesivo intervencionismo frente al tradicional free trade de la economía inglesa. Ambas lecturas -irreconciliables, contrapuestas convergen en un mismo fin, donde al parecer reside el remedio de todos los males: la salida de Europa.

    The reasons, some opposite or contradictory, that were used during the campaign in favor of Brexit are mixed and confused when trying to explain the decision taken: hatred of the technocratic and bureaucratic elitism of Brussels, fear of mass immigration, recovery of sovereignty on the part of the British and the indigenous control of the main economic decisions … Some reject the austere and neoliberal policies of the European Commission, while others reject its excessive interventionism against the traditional free trade of the English economy. Both readings —irreconcilable, opposed— converge on the same goal, where apparently the remedy for all ills resides: leaving Europe.
