    The Bolivian Tupi-Guarani languages are made up of four different language subgroups: the Chiriguano-Tapiete subgroup (subset I), the Sirionoide subgroup (Siriono, Yúki, Horá, with the inclusion of new data for Horá, subset II), the Guaráyu (II) and Warázu (II). In the light of the hypothesis of Rodrigues (2000) about the migrations of the Tupi-Guarani peoples, the problem of genetic relations between all these languages is discussed. In this context, the Sirionoide subgroup presents problems that have not yet been resolved. Kawahiwa (VI), the only Tupi-Guarani language from Rondônia and neighboring areas, of the “Grande Madeira”, surrounded by languages from other Tupi families, is a language typologically close to the Tupi- Guarani languages of subsets I - V, which leads to the hypothesis that Kawahib returned, in historical migrations, to the land of origin of the entire Tupi trunk.

    As línguas Tupi-Guarani bolivianas são constituídas por quatro subgrupos diferentes de línguas: o subgrupo Chiriguano-Tapiete (subconjunto I), o subgrupo Sirionoide (Siriono, Yúki, Horá, com a inclusão de dados novos para o Horá, subconjunto II), o Guaráyu (II) e o Warázu (II). Discute-se, à luz da hipótese de Rodrigues (2000) sobre as migrações dos povos Tupi-Guarani, o problema das relações genéticas entre todas essas línguas. Neste contexto, o subgrupo Sirionoide apresenta problemas ainda não resolvidos. O Kawahiwa (VI), a única língua Tupi-Guarani de Rondônia e áreas limítrofes, do “Grande Madeira”, rodeada de línguas de outras famílias Tupi, é uma língua tipologicamente vizinha às línguas Tupi-Guarani dos subconjuntos I – V, o que leva à hipótese de o Kawahib ter voltado, em migrações históricas, à terra de origem do tronco Tupi inteiro.
