Existen variedad de términos que se usan como sustantivos para nominar fenómenos, otros tantos son usados para crear y transformar la realidad social. El presente artículo pretende sustentar, desde los aportes de la filosofía analítica de Searle y Wittgenstein, que el concepto “minorías” cumple ambas funciones. Nombra—visibiliza un problema social—y a su vez al proferirlo convoca intencionalmente cambios en la realidad social. Su significado está determinado por el uso que se le ha dado en el discurso político y sus definiciones conllevan a la emisión de actos de habla perlocucionarios e ilocucionarios con los cualesintencionalmente se promueven cambios en el mundo social.

There are a variety of terms that are used as nouns to nomínate phenomena, many others are used to create and transform social reality. This article aims to support, from the contributions of the analytical philosophy of Searle and Wittgenstein, that the concept of "minorities" fulfills both functions. Name it —make a social problem visible —and in turn, when you utter it, intentionallysummonchanges in social reality.
