    Como Estado miembro, el Reino Unido nunca había tenido que demostrar la adecuación del nivel de protección de datos personales ofrecido por su ordenamiento jurídico. Sin embargo, tras abandonar la Unión Europea y convertirse en un tercer país, será la Comisión Europea la que deba evaluar si dicho Estado ofrece un 'nivel de protección adecuado' que haga posibles las trasferencias de datos personales desde la UE sin menoscabo de los derechos y libertades de las personas físicas cuyos datos se transmiten. Este trabajo tiene por objeto analizar los factores que podrían tener incidencia en este proceso de evaluación, así como aquellos otros que podrían afectar al nivel de protección de datos actualmente garantizado por el Reino Unido tras su salida definitiva de la UE

    As a Member State, the United Kingdom had never had to demonstrate the adequacy of the level of protection of personal data offered by its legal system. However, after leaving the European Union and becoming a third country, it will be up to the European Commission to decide whether that State offers an "adequate level of protection" that makes possible the transfer of personal data from the EU without undermining the rights and freedoms of the individuals whose data are transmitted. This document aims to analyze the factors that could have an impact on the result of this evaluation as well as those others that could affect the level of data protection currently guaranteed by the United Kingdom after its final exit from the EU.
