    El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido determinar si existió relación significativa entre la evolución presupuestaria y los rendimientos deportivos en la Federación Catalana de Esgrima (FCE). Estudio longitudinal de caso único, en 16 años de gestión deportiva y presupuestaria de la FCE. Se correlacionan (Spearman's rho) los presupuestos en tecnificación y alto rendimiento de cada año con los resultados en Campeonatos de España del mismo año (T) y del siguiente (T+1). Entre los años 1998 y 2013 los presupuestos de la FCE sufrieron un proceso de crecimiento y decrecimiento considerable. Los resultados deportivos siguieron una significativa (p<.05) evolución paralela con el número de medallas en Campeonatos de España en categorías inferiores (T: r= .613;

    T+1: r=.628) y en todas las categorías (T: r=.650; T+1: r=.793), En la Federación Catalana de Esgrima (periodo 1998-2013), existió una correlación significativa (p<.05) entre niveles presupuestarios y resultados deportivos de sus deportistas siendo mayor la correlación con los resultados del año posterior al de la asignación presupuestaria

    The aim of this study is to determine whether there was significant relationship between budgetary developments and sports performances in the Catalan Fencing Federation (FCE).

    Longitudinal study of a unique case throughout 16 years of sporting and budgetary management of the FCE. Correlating (Spearman's rho) budgets in technology and high performance of each year with results in Spanish Championships that same year (T) and the next (T+1). Between 1998 and 2013 FCE's budgets underwent a substantial process of growth and decrease. Sport results followed a significant (p <.05) parallel evolution with the number of medals in Championships in Spain in lower categories (T: r =.613; T+1: r =.628) and in all categories (T: r =.650; T+1: r =.793). There is a correlation between the budget levels in the Catalan Fencing Federation (FCE) (period 1998-2013) (p <.05) and the sporting results of the athletes, that becomes more significant with the results of the post-budget allocation year
