Impacts of the amendment to the regulation of pre-primary education on the practical domain in the Czech Republic

  • The Amendment to the Education Act introduced compulsory preschool education for children from the age of 5 and an obligation for parents to register their child for such compulsory education. From the perspective of kindergarten teachers, it has raised a number of unanswered questions connected with their work, primarily as a consequence of the enacted option of individual education for five-year-old children. In addition, the amendment stipulates new requirements for school management and administrations in Czech cities and towns.
