La ciudad de las telas en los albores de la modernidad. Breve esbozo del crecimiento del sector textil en Medellín durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX

    En el siguiente artículo se realizará un breve esbozo sobre la consolidación del sector textil en la ciudad de Medellín en la segunda mitad del siglo XX. El prin-cipal objeto de estudio es la moda y se parte de la idea de que la moda es una manifestación cultural que se transforma y adapta a la historia, siendo el centro de los procesos de modernización y globalización de la ciudad que la catapultó vertiginosamente, convirtiéndola en una ciudad generadora de empleo y de tratados comerciales a escala local y regional. Se apunta a comprender cómo la industrialización del sector textil, por medio de la fundación de la Asociación Colombiana de Alta Costura, hizo posible la apertura de escuelas especializadas en moda y confección que permitió la definición de un sistema de la moda que se ve reflejado en dos grandes eventos: Colombiatex y Colombiamoda (a los que haremos énfasis), lo cual afectó la dinámica social, económica, urbana y política de la ciudad.

    The following article will provide a brief overview of the consolidation of the textile sector in the city of Medellín during the second half of the 20th century. The main object of study is fashion. It is based on the idea that fashion is a cultural manifestation whichever transforms and adapts itself to history, being the center of the modernization and globalization processes of the city turning it into a city that generates employment and commercial treaties on a local and regional scale. This paper aims to understand how the industrialization of the textile sector, throughout the founding of the Colombian Association of Haute Couture had made possible the opening of specialized schools of fashion allowing the creation of a Fashion System that is portrait in two major events: Colombiatex and Colombiamoda (emphasizing these events) that had affected the social, economic, urban and political dynamics of the city.
