    Este artículo es el primero de una serie dedicada a las posibilidades que abre Google Earth para los estudios e investigaciones de morfología urbana. Se realiza aquí una primera aproximación al problema, la cual será seguida de otros artículos dedicados específicamente al estudio de las tramas urbanas, de los edificios y de otros elementos significativos de la morfología y el paisaje urbano.

    This paper is the first of a series dedicated to the possibilities that Google Earth opens for the studies and researches of urban morphology. One first approach to the problem is made here, which will be followed of other papers dedicated specifically to the study of the urban plots, the buildings and other significant elements of the morphology and the urban landscape.
