The metal-resin union is a technique of a daily use in the laboratory and in the dental clinic. There are many possibilities to go ahead but no one is determinate. We study the resistance of the three kind of unions: mechanical, chemical and mixed using 10 test-tube of each. These unions were analysed microscopically to found the fracture in the metal, in the resin or in the union. When we compare our results with the literature we had different conclusions: 1) there are not significant differences among the three fractures; 2) there are a dependence between the used method and the localization of the fracture, and 3) the most weak point is the adhesive union.
