    Pedro Tenorio ocupa un lugar preeminente entre los prelados que dirigieron la sede de Toledo durante el período medieval. El motivo de ello radica no solo en su destacado protagonismo político y religioso, compartido por la práctica totalidad de sus predecesores, sino también en su loada labor edilicia. Durante su pontificado se construyeron o repararon grandes puentes, hospitales y monasterios, al igual que varias fortificaciones; sin embargo, ello no fue obstáculo para que el concejo de Toledo decidiera iniciar diversos pleitos contra él, llegando incluso a motivar la paralización de una de sus obras más destacadas. El presente artículo tiene por principal cometido analizar los citados desencuentros a través de la lectura de un interesante documento albergado en el Archivo Capitular de Toledo.

    Among the prelates who directed the see of Toledo during the Middle Ages, Pedro Tenorio occupies a preeminent place. The reason for this is due not only to his prominent political and religious role, shared by most of his predecessors, but also to his remarkable building initiatives. During his pontificate, large bridges, hospitals, monasteries and fortifications were built or repaired. However, this did not matter to the Toledo council as it decided to initiate various lawsuits against the archbishop, even causing the interruption of one of his most outstanding works. The main objective of this article is to analyze the aforementioned confrontations. For that purpose, we will study an interesting document preserved in the Chapter of Toledo’s Archive.
