  • Resumen
    • This chapter analyses the historical evolution of automobile manufacturers in two neighbouring countries that have close ties; Spain and Portugal. In both cases, although on a different scale, this sector is one of the main driving forces of the national economy. Compared to other European countries, the automobile industry in Spain and Portugal had scarcely got off the ground by the mid-20th century, since when it has followed quite different paths in the two countries. This work tries to determine the characteristics of car manufacturers in each country, and the consequences, in terms of expansion, to emerge from the strategies adopted.
