Cádiz has historically been recognized by the importance of its businesses and its harbor: a relevant place for the trade between Europe, Africa and America for centuries. Sherry wines have always had a special position in that trade, particularly from the second half of the 18th century, when wine sales began to increase gradually. But it was during the 19th century when large winemaking houses appeared in the city: Lacave & Company, Miguel M. Gómez S.A. and Abarzuza & Company. This chapter focuses on the activity carried out by one of them, Lacave & Company, which offered a large variety of wines between the 19th and 20th centuries. Specifically, it analyzes the products portfolio, the main suppliers, the exports and the market areas. For this, the accounting information of the company has been used, which is kept in a private archive in the Wine Unit of the University of Cádiz.
