Les églises basilicales protobyzantines à chevet tripartite et absides saillantes en Phénicie maritime et libanaise

    Parmi les basiliques de Phénicie maritime et libanaise, peu présentent un chevet à trois absides saillantes. On citera Chhîm et Khirbet Yarun en Phénicie maritime. D’autres églises, comme Khaldé Choueifat ou Nahariya, ont un chevet atypique. Dans l’église de pèlerinage de Khan Khaldé, où la circulation des pèlerins est avérée, le chevet est également irrégulier. Ces basiliques, fruits de l’évergétisme local pour leur construction et leur décor, ont souvent dû s’adapter à la topographie et pour certaines à un monument romain sacré préexistant.

    :في فينيقيا البحرية و اللبنانية، قليلا ما وجدت البازيليكا ذات المحراب الثلاثي البارز مثل شحيم وخربة يارون في فينيقيا البحرية . أما الكنائس الاخرى فكثيرا ما كان وجودها يعود لإرادة و مبادرة وتمويل بعض الجهات المحلية التي تفرض ارادتها على عملية البناء . لذلك يحكم تشييد هذه الكنائس ظروف خاصة بالموقع المشادة عليه كطبوغرافيا المكان، أو يكون بناؤها على أنقاض معبد روماني سابق، فيكون شكل محرابها غير نظامي. نذكر منها خالدة شويفات، نهارية ،و كنيسة خان خالدة و هي كنيسة يؤمها الحجيج فتتميز بحركة مرور كثيفة.

    Among the basilicas in Phoenice and Phoenice Libanensis, few have a chevet with three projecting apses. Noticeable are Chhîm and Khirbet Yarun, in Phoenice. Other churches, like Khalde Choueifat or Nahariya, have an atypical chevet. In the pilgrimage church of Khan Khalde, where the presence of pilgrims is attested, the chevet is also irregular. Those basilicas resulting from local evergetism as for their construction and design had often to adapt to the topography and, for some of them, to a former Roman sacred building.
