    El ensayo reconstruye el perfil biográfico de Angel Pigurina, legionario, amigo de Giuseppe Garibaldi, el héroe de los dos mundos, que luchó en la Legión italiana de Montevideo (1843-1848) y en la primera guerra de independencia en Italia (1848-1849). Después de esta última guerra, el coronel Pigurina, por invitación de Garibaldi, se trasladó permanentemente a Uruguay, su segunda patria, junto con su familia, donde aún viven sus descendientes. Esta contribución finaliza con un apéndice documental, que incluye el "Memorial" de las empresas militares llevadas a cabo por Pigurina en Uruguay y en Italia, publicado por primera vez en América Latina, más las cartas escritas por el héroe de los mundos a su amigo entre 1858 y 1875.

    The essay reconstructs the biographic profile of Angel Pigurina, legionary and friend of Giuseppe Garibaldi:

    the hero of the two worlds, who fought in the Italian legion of Montevideo (1843-1848) and in the First Italian War of Independence (1848-1849). After the latter war, at the invitation of Garibaldi, Colonel Pigurina and his family moved permanently to his second homeland, Uruguay, and his descendants still live there today. This contribution ends with an appendix that includes the “Memorial” of the military companies carried out by Pigurina in Uruguay and Italy, published for the first time in Latin America, plus the letters written by the hero of the two worlds to his friend between 1858 and 1875.
