This work examines and analyzes the structure and heterogeneity of the LIC (Site of Community Interest, SCI) of Na Borges (Majorca), located in the northeast of Mallorca. The analysis was made from the description of a set of landscape ecology metrics applied to this territory, using the Fragstats software and a map of coverages, derived from the Spanish Land Cover Information System (SIOSE), 2014. The analysis has shown the landscape dominance of surfaces with natural vegetation and cultivated areas, as expected in this type of protected areas, very little artificial. The fragmentation of the LIC into 16 different classes of landscape, distributed in 218 polygons, allows to validate the ecological and landscape diversity of the area, which could be compared, using the same analytical method, with the situation of the other natural protected areas of the Balearic Islands.
