Resumen de Gli affreschi di San Slavatore piccolo a Capua: una testimonianza bizantina in terra angioina

Maria Rosaria Marchionibus

  • The present article analyzes frescoes in the apse of the Capua Church of San Salvatore Piccolo, focalizing on the oriental and occidental cultural components that enliven them, taking into account the Grecian presence in Campania at the turn of the 14th century. The patron of the frescoes is identified as a personage who has never yet been taken into consideration in critical literature, "domina Galgana dicta Greca", abbess from 1286 to 1339 of San Giovanni delle Monache in Capua, from which the church of San Salvatore piccolo depended.
