  • Resumen
    • As Gregory of Nyssa retells Moses's encounter with God in the burning bush in V. Mos. Book 1, he adds many elements absent from the biblical text. Many of these additions have correspondences to Paul's Damascus Road theophany in Acts 9.1–19, 22.6–16, and 26.12–23. By comparing the text of V. Mos. 1.19.14–1.20 with Acts, we see that Gregory incorporates Pauline elements into his narrative of the burning bush theophany. This creates a hybrid narrative that effectively weaves a new text that presents an account of the episode that is more in line with Gregory's christological interpretation of the event.
