  • Resumen
    • The second part of the book follows the development of Augustine’s concept on the basis of the pro-Nicene Christology on the one hand, and of the Plotinian philosophy of image on the other hand. In summary, the book is a well-written, academic synthesis of Augustine’s early theology of image that describes Augustine’s departure from the Latin pro-Nicene theologians of the previous generation with the help of Plotinian philosophy. The book contains an extensive bibliography, footnotes and index, although separate indices (ancient authors, quoted modern authors, key quotations from Augustine’s texts) might be more helpful to the reader.
