    Entre el rico patrimonio que atesora la Biblioteca del Palacio Real de Madrid ana-lizamos en este artículo las cromolitografías con vistas de Toledo que forman parte del Álbum del príncipe Mestchersky, realizadas tras su viaje a España entre 1860 y 1861. La imagen pintoresca de la ciudad imperial emerge aquí de la mano del pintor alemán Friedrich Eibner (1825-1877), un total de siete vistas en las que se advierte el gusto por la imagen romántica de la España decimonónica, sublime y envuelta en un rotundo atractivo por el paso del tiempo. Ante la escasa repercusión de la producción artística de Eibner en la historiografía del Romanticismo español, se pretende una revalorización de su obra, así como la selección de un conjunto de estampas en las que Toledo se presenta como una de las ciudades protagonistas por su valor monumental y paisajístico, a lo que contribuimos con obras inéditas.

    Among the rich heritage treasured by the Library of the Royal Palace of Madrid, we want to study the chromolithographs with views of Toledo, part of the Album of Prince Metschersky, made after his trip to Spain between 1860 and 1861. The picturesque image of the imperial city was created by the German painter Friedrich Eibner (1825-1877), seven views in which we find the attraction for the romantic image of Spain during 19thcentury, sublime and surrounded by an attraction by the pass of time. The limited reper-cussion of Eibner's artistic production in the Spanish Romanticism historiography, is in-tended to revalue his work, as well as the selection of a set of prints in which Toledo is presented as one of the leading cities due to its monumental and landscaping value, to which we contribute with unpublished paintigs.
