Resumen de Infraestructura de Datos Espaciales y Sistema Central de Direcciones de Uruguay

  Se presentan dos proyectos que han permitido evolucionar de forma sustancial la gestión de la información geográfica en el Gobierno de Uruguay. Ambos proyectos basados en las tecno-logías de la suite gvSIG, un catálogo de soluciones en software libre entre los que se encuentra gvSIG Online, producto orientado a la puesta en marcha de Infraestructuras de Datos Espaciales. Ambos proyectos, a su vez, han permitido evolucionar gvSIG Online, añadiendo un conjunto de nuevas funcionalidades y herramientas. El primero de estos proyectos es la implantación de la Infraestruc-tura de Datos Espaciales de Uruguay, destacando el volumen de datos que la componen y las mejoras tecnológicas desarrolladas para cumplir los requisitos del proyecto. El segundo de ellos es el proyecto de implantación de un nuevo Sistema Central de Direcciones en el país, igualmente basado en gvSIG Online y que entre otras herramientas ha permitido implementar un sistema para el mantenimiento de los callejeros por las intendencias (administraciones locales), siempre dentro del concepto IDE Infraestructura de Datos Espaciales.

  Two projects that have allowed to evolve the geographic informa-tion management in the Government of Uruguay substantially are presented. Both projects are based on the gvSIG Suite technologies, a catalog of open source software solutions where gvSIG Online is included, a product aimed at the Spatial Data Infrastructures implementation.Both projects, in turn, have allowed gvSIG Online to be evolved, adding a set of new functionalities and tools.The first of these projects is the implementation of the Uruguay Spatial Data Infrastructure, highlighting the volume of data that it is composed of and the technological improvements developed to meet the project requirements. The second one is the project for the implementation of a new Central Address System in the country, also based on gvSIG Online that has made it possible to implement a system for the maintenance of street maps by the municipalities (local administrations), among other tools, always within the concept of Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI).
