La intención de este trabajo es exponer cómo el uso de las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC) facilita el desarrollo de la Competencia Digital, en los estudiantes que cursan el Programa de Diploma del Bachillerato Internacional; en la unidad educativa ISM Internacional Academy (IA). Para lograr el objetivo indicado, se precisaron tres fases de investigación: (1) una fase inicial en la que se identificó el problema y se planificó la intervención; (2) el trabajo de campo, que inició con la recolección y el análisis inicial de los datos mediante un enfoque mixto: cualitativo y cuantitativo; y (3) el procesamiento de la información, fase en la que se organizó los datos, se elaboraron interpretaciones y se transcribió el informe de investigación a partir de comparaciones y contrastaciones, precisando las limitaciones del estudio y viables líneas de investigación futura sobre la necesidad de desarrollar Competencias Digitales en los estudiantes para un uso eficaz de las TIC.

The intention of this work is to expose how the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) facilitates the development of the Digital Competences, in students that take the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program; in ISM International Acad-emy. To achieve the stated objective, three phases of investigation were required: (1) an initial phase in which the problem was identified and the intervention was planned; (2) field work, which deals with the collection and initial analysis of the data through a mixed approach: qualitative and quantitative; and (3) the information processing, phase in which the data was organized, interpretations were prepared and the re-search report was transcribed from comparisons and contrasts, specifying the limita-tions of the study and viable lines of future research on the need to develop Digital Competences in students for effective use of ICT.
