    La figura de la infanta doña Luisa Carlota de Borbón ha quedado envuelta, durante mucho tiempo, en un manto de leyendas, invenciones y mitos. Hora es que, por medio de una investigación histórica rigurosa, se aclaren esos relatos construidos en el siglo XIX y difundidos en el siglo XX por intereses alejados de la verdad. Por ejemplo, se divulgó –sin ningún tipo de prueba salvo escritos muy posteriores de masones– que había pertenecido a las logias. Su vida transcurrió entre el final del Antiguo Régimen y el reinado de su sobrina Isabel II. Atravesó periodos tan complicados como el reinado de Fernando VII, la revolución liberal, la Primera Guerra Carlista, las regencias de María Cristina de Borbón y del general Espartero. Por ello, nuestro interés por investigar su figura adecuadamente, teniendo en cuenta las palabras que escribió el militar Pedro Chamorro Baquerizo, en su acercamiento biográfico a su marido, el infante Francisco de Paula:“que habiendo identificado sus tribulaciones con las de su propio país, tiene derecho a que sea solidaria su memoria".

    The figure of the Infanta Luisa Carlota de Borbón has been wrapped, for a long time, in a cloak of legends, inventions and myths. It is time that, through rigorous historical research, those stories constructed in the 19th century and disseminated in the 20th century by interests far from the truth are clarified. For example, it was disclosed –without any evidence except much later writings by Masons– that it had belonged to the lodges. His life passed between the end of the Ancien Regime and the reign of his niece Elizabeth II. He went through periods as complicated as the reign of Fernando VII, the Liberal Revolution, the First Carlist War, the regencies of María Cristina de Borbón and general Espartero. Therefore, our interest in investigating his figure properly, taking into account the words written by military Pedro Chamorro Baquerizo, in his biographical approach to her husband, the infant Francisco de Paula: “that having identified his tribulations with those of his own country, he has the right to have his memory in solidarity”.
