  Durante la Guerra Civil Española y primeros años del Franquismo el Museo Provincial de Alicante estuvo ocupado por el Servicio de Recuperación del Patrimonio Artístico Nacional. Una entidad creada por el Ministerio de Educación Nacional con la finalidad de recuperar y devolver el patrimonio incautado por la Junta de Incautación y Protección del Patrimonio Artístico del bando republicano. En el presente artículo se realiza una aproximación al desarrollo y la dimensión de este acontecimiento gracias a la documentación que dicho Servicio generó.

  During the Spanish Civil War and the first years of the Franco regime the Provincial Museum of Alicante was occupied by the Service of Recovery and Defence of the National Artistic Heritage. An entity created by the Ministry of National Education with the aim of recovering and returning the heritage confiscated by the Artistic Heritage Confiscation and Preservation Board of the republican side. In this paper an approximation to the development and dimension of this event is made thanks to the documentation generated by this Service.
