  A partir de una frase de Simone Weil sobre la Mística de la Contrarreforma española como «Refugio para el Espíritu de la Verdad» que posibilitó la pervivencia de la Iglesia Católica, nos aproximamos al entendimiento de Simone Weil sobre la Mística. Seguiremos los caminos propuestos por santa Teresa de Jesús, maestra y ejemplo de la mística española, contando con la metodología propuesta por el magisterio de san Ignacio de Loyola para el discernimiento. Con ayuda de filósofos como san Agustín y Edith Stein, vaciamos el significado conceptual de «Espíritu de la Verdad» para llegar, con Stein y Weil, al entendimiento de que la mística es un camino para la pervivencia de la humanidad.   From a sentence of Simone Weil about the Mysticism of the Spanish Counter-Reformation as “Refuge for the Spirit of Truth” that made possible the survival of the Catholic Church, we approach Simone Weil’s understanding of Mysticism. We will follow the paths proposed by Saint Teresa of Jesus, teacher and example of Spanish mysticism, relying on the methodology proposed by the magisterium of Saint Ignatius of Loyola for discernment. With the help of philosophers like St. Augustine and Edith Stein, we will empty the conceptual meaning of “Spirit of Truth” to arrive, with Stein and Weil, at the understanding that mysticism is a path for the survival of humanity.
