    El estudio de los antecedentes familiares del pintor Luis Paret y Alcázar es un capítulo de su biografía al que apenas se ha prestado atención. Este artículo aporta documentación inédita sobre los orígenes familiares del pintor en Madrid, cobrando especial interés las noticias recogidas sobre la profesión de su padre, Paul Paret, y los motivos que le impulsaron a trasladarse a vivir a la Corte española. Un ámbito familiar en el que lejos de lo que cabría esperar se desenvolvió ajeno a la práctica artística.

    The study of the family background of the painter Luis Paret y Alcázar is a chapter of his biography to which modern historiography has berely paid attention. This study provides unplublished documentation on the family origins of the painter in Madrid, taking special interest the news gathered about of profession of his father, Paul Paret, and the reasons that prompted him to move to live in the Spanish Court. A familiar area in which far from what would be expected was developed oblivious to artistic practice.
