    El presente trabajo, con motivo de la reciente promulgación de la Ley de Educación en España, establece la relación entre el “Mito de la caverna” y la Idea de educación, destacando la diferencia entre el sentido subjetivo y objetivo del término “educación”.

    Se explica el fracaso educativo en España en función de los planes y programas políticos que han llevado al país a su subordinación económica a la Unión Europea, señalando el paralelismo entre la figura del “elector libre” de la sociedad de mercado y el alumno en el nuevo plan educativo.

    Asimismo se plantea la posible respuesta de la ciudadanía contra la medida más destacable de la ideología de la nueva Ley, como es la no obligatoriedad del español como lengua escolar en todo el territorio español.

    On the occasion of the recent enactment of Education Law in Spain, this paper presents the relation between the Myth of de Cave and the Idea of education, highlighting the subjective meaning in opposition to the objective meaning of the term “education”.

    It explains the educational failure in Spain according to the political plans and programmes that have led the country to its economic subordination to the European Union, pointing out the parallel between the figure of the "free voter" of market society and the student in the new educational plan.

    It also raises the possible response of citizens against the most remarkable measure of the ideology of the new Law, such as the non-obligation of Spanish as a school language throughout the Spanish territory.
