O nos educamos o nos extinguimos

    El ser humano está hecho para educarse, el afán educativo se encuentra en nuestra propia naturaleza, la orientación de nuestro espíritu remite con naturalidad a nuestro perfeccionamiento. El que nada sabe en la ignorancia se diluye, sin libertad ni conciencia, a merced de quien ordena y manda.

    Desde finales del siglo XIX y comienzos del siglo XX, la cultura como un valor en sí mismo devino la condición imprescindible para cualquier avance social, lo cual condujo entonces a unas ansias colosales por recibir una instrucción adecuada. Urge una escuela que utilice de forma inteligente y crítica los medios tecnológicos que ofrece esta época.

    Mantener en las aulas el aprecio por la experiencia literaria constituye para el profesorado un reto ético y estético de una trascendencia pedagógica y cultural inédita en la historia de la educación.

    Cuando reflexionamos sobre los diferentes modos (legendario-fabuloso, épico-trágico, cómicoparódico...) de tomar forma literaria sentimientos, emociones, experiencias, conceptos e ideas, estamos discurriendo sobre nuestro modo de entender el mundo, y aprendemos cosas relevantes sobre nosotros mismos y sobre el entramado que nos conecta con la realidad entorno. El trabajo continuado con textos literarios, bien encauzado en la institución escolar, debería seguir enseñando en el futuro a los aprendices a ser realistas, y no en el sentido más trivial de adaptarse a lo inmediato, sino en el sentido más completo del término:

    comprendiendo la incertidumbre de lo real y sabiendo que existe una porción de lo posible -y deseable- que siempre permanece intacta e invisible dentro de lo real y que nos debería incitar a transformar el mundo de raíz.

    The human being is made to educate himself, the educational zeal is found in our own nature, the orientation of our spirit refers naturally to our perfection. He who knows nothing in ignorance is diluted, without freedom or conscience, at the mercy of those who order and command. Since the late 19th and early 20th centuries, culture as a value in itself has become a prerequisite for any social progress, which has led to a colossal desire for adequate education. There is an urgent need for a school that makes intelligent and critical use of the technological means offered by this age.

    Maintaining an appreciation of the literary experience in the classroom is an ethical and aesthetic challenge for teachers of an unprecedented pedagogical and cultural significance in the history of education.

    When we examine the different ways (legendaryfabulous, epic-tragic, comic-parodic...) in which feelings, emotions, experiences, concepts and ideas take literary form, we are reflecting on our way of understanding the world, and we learn relevant things about ourselves and about the framework that connects us with the reality around us. Continued work with literary texts, well channelled in the school institution, should continue to teach learners in the future to be realistic, and not in the more trivial sense of adapting to the immediate, but in the fullest sense of the term: understanding the uncertainty of the real and knowing that there is a portion of the possible - and desirable - that always remains intact and invisible within the real and that should incite us to transform the world at its roots.
