Resumen de Migración, género y desigualdad: la condición de vida de familias migrantes con jefas de hogar en Argentina (2005-2019)

Tradicionalmente se asume que la migración es liderada por un hombre, quien moviliza por diversos motivos a su núcleo familiar, y la mujer era mera acompañante del proceso. Hacia fines del siglo XX las mujeres ocuparon un papel preponderante en diversos estudios científicos, sin embargo, es materia pendiente profundizar el análisis sobre su rol desde diversas disciplinas. El trabajo analiza datos de la Encuesta Permanente de Hogares de Argentina, con el fin de evaluar la existencia desigual de privaciones multidimensionales en hogares con jefas de hogar migrantes respecto a aquellos que tienen jefe de hogar. Para evaluar la dinámica del fenómeno se consideran los periodos 2005, 2009 y 2019. Debido a la rigidez de los indicadores a mediano plazo, es innecesario replicar el análisis para los periodos intermedios. Se concluye la existencia de privaciones múltiples y más severas en hogares con jefa de hogar migrante.

Traditionally, it is assumed that it is the man who leads a migratory process, who mo-bilizes his family nucleus for diverse reasons, placing women as mere accompanists to the process. Towards the end of the 20th century, women were given a leading place in scien-tific studies, however, it is pending matter to deepen the analysis of their role. The paper analyses data from the Permanent Household Survey of Argentina, in order to evaluate inequality in the existence of multidimensional deprivations in households with female migrant heads of household with respect to those with male. To evaluate the dynamics of the phenomenon, the periods 2005, 2009 and 2019 will be considered. Due to the rigidity of the medium-term indicators, it is unnecessary to replicate the analysis for the interme-diate periods. The existence of multiple and more severe deprivations in households with a female migrant household head is concluded
