El año pasado, Disputatio publicó un número especial dedicado al Humanismo y a su relevancia en el mundo contemporáneo, y una parte importante en ese proyecto hubiera sido una entrevista con Sir Roger Scruton, uno de los humanistas más eminentes de nuestros tiempos. Desafortunadamente, la enfermedad de Sir Roger, que a principio de este año segó su vida, hizo imposible que él pudiera contestar las preguntas en torno al Humanismo que habíamos preparado. Esta pieza, In Memoriam, es una muy breve reflexión sobre la importancia del legado filosófico de Sir Roger Scruton, humanista y pensador ecléctico, y defensor de una concepción clásica del conservadurismo, como contraste a los tiempos de frivolidad, superficialidad y egoismo irreflexivo que corren hoy.

Last year, Disputatio published a special edition on the topic of Humanism and its relevance in the contemporary world. One key contribution to this project would have been an interview granted by Sir Roger Scruton, one of the emminent humanists of our time. Unfortunately the illness that cut his life short at the beginning of this year made it impossible for him to answer the questions related to Humanism that we had prepared for him. This piece, In Memoriam, is a very short reflection about the importance of the philosophical legacy of Sir Roger Scruton, humanist and eclectic thinker, and a defender of a classical conception of conservatism against these times of frivolity, superficiality and unthinking egotism.
