El ante quirófano es un lugar donde se recibe a los pacientes y donde éstos esperan antes de entrar al quirófano. La espera suele ser estresante y angustiosa. Además se mezclan diferentes sensaciones, el ambiente físico frío, ajeno al paciente; añadido además a la angustia y el miedo. He aquí el relato de la experiencia de una enfermera quirúrgica, de un día cualquiera, durante la acogida a un paciente con dificultades añadidas de lengua, sociabilidad, etc.; donde la angustia y el miedo se exageran

The ante-operating theatre is the place where patients are admitted and must wait before entering the operating theatre. The waiting time produces both stress and anguish. Moreover, there is a mixture of different sensations, such as the cold environment, so alien to the patients´experience, or the anguish and fear they feel before the operation. Here is the report from a surgical nurse on her experience, on an average day, during the reception of a patient with the added difficulties of the language, integration problems, et cetera, at a point when the above-mentioned anguish and fear become decisive
