    En el presente artículo se va a estudiar la influencia de Jonathan Swift en la obra de Juan Benet. Se va a discutir cuestiones tales como el relativismo epistemológico, el absurdo existencial, la alternancia entre lo más grave y el humor, la creación de cronotopos imaginarios, el viaje y el viajero, el antihéroe, la psicología, las luchas de poder, la violencia y la guerra, el lenguaje y el estilo, la novela-ensayo, el papel del hipotético lector, lo histórico, incoherencias y errores encontrados en ambas obras y el tema de España.

    In this article I am going to study the influence of Jonathan Swift in Juan Benet’s works. I am going to discuss the following topics: the epistemologic relativism, the existential absurd, the alternation between seriousness and humor, the creation of imaginary chronotopes, the travel and the traveler, the antihero, the psychology, the power struggles, the violence and the war, the language and the style, the novel-essay, the role of the hypothetical reader, the history, the inconsistencies and the mistakes found in both works and the topic of Spain.
