    El artículo, del que ahora se publica la primera parte, intenta ahondar en el estudio del sentido y razón de ser de la convocatoria del concilio Vaticano II centrándose en el análisis de los Discursos que el Pontífice Juan XXIII pronunciara desde el primer anuncio de la magna asamblea, 25 de enero de 1959, hasta la jornada de su inauguración el 11 de octubre de 1962. En esta primera parte del artículo se estudian tres temas: ideas general sobre el Concilio, el Papa y el Concilio, la articulación de la preparación conciliar y la metodología del Concilio.

    This paper, whose first part is now published, attempts to deepen into the study of the meaning and the purpose of the convocation of the Second Vatican Council. It focuses on the analysis of the Discourses that Pope John XXIII delivered since the first announcement of the Magna Assembly, January 25, 1959, until the day of its inauguration on October 11, 1962. In this first part, three themes are studied: general ideas about the Council, the Pope and the Council, the articulation of the conciliar preparation and the methodology of the Council.
