Resumen de Al otro lado del Alzheimer. "Miedo, pánico, vértigo": Relato biográfico de una cuidadora familiar

El relato biográfico que se presenta a continuación, cuenta la experiencia de vida de la hija de una señora con enfermedad de Alzheimer, desde que conoce el diagnóstico hasta la fase más avanzada de la enfermedad. Ella se hace llamar Teté y nos relata cómo vivió el inicio de la enfermedad de su madre cuando apenas tenía conocimiento sobre la misma, cómo fue el camino hacia el diagnóstico, cuáles fueron sus sentimientos al ir evo-lucionando la enfermedad, cómo decide el ingreso en una residencia y de qué manera fue aceptando esa nueva situación, además de hacer refe-rencia a aspectos como son la educación sanitaria, la importancia de la información y las terapias con otros familiares de enfermos de Alzheimer. Para abordar todos estos temas se realiza un trabajo de investigación cualitativa de diseño narrativo biográfico empleando la entrevista en profun-didad como método de recogida de información.

The following biographical story introduced relates the life experience of a daughter of elderly lady with Alzheimer's disease, from the diagnosis until the most advanced stage of the disease. She calling herself Teté and tells us how she lived the beginning of his mother's disease when she barely knew about it, how the path was to the diagnosis, which her feelings were during the evolution of her mother's illness, how she decided to admit her mother into a nursing home and how she accepted that new situation. Furthermore she makes mention of aspects like sanitary education, the importance of information and therapies with other Alzheimer's relatives. In order to present all these topics, a qualitative research work is done from a narrative design using in-depth interview as method to collect information.
