Después de mencionar brevemente las características generales y comunes del término antisemitismo, se procede a hacer un recorrido histórico de lo que fue el antisemitismo en Europa y especialmente en Alemania desde el siglo XIX. Se tienen en cuenta distintos aspectos y momentos de esta realidad, como son el racismo radical, el darwinismo social, el nazismo hitleriano y el antijudaísmo cristiano. También se hacen referencias a la problemática situación de los judíos, llamados «asimilados», frente a la cultura y a la identidad alemanas.
Debido a su trascendencia y su actualidad, se menciona el llamado mito de la «conspiración judía mundial» («Protocolos de los Sabios de Sión»). Finalmente se hace un intento de interpretación y comprensión del antisemitismo, considerando elementos sicológicos, psicoanalíticos y sociológicos, haciendo una muy rápida alusión a una nueva forma de antisemitismo como es el fundamentalismo de algunos grupos islámicos.

After brief exploration of the general and common characteristics of the term anti-Semitism, this report follows a historical review of anti-Semitism in Europe, especially in Germany starting in the 19th century. Different aspects and movements are considered, like radical racism, social Darwinism, Nazism and Christian anti-Judaism. The article also analyzes the problematic situation of the so called «assimilated» Jews confronted with German culture and German identity. Because of its present capital importance, the so-called myth of the Jewish world-conspiracy and the Protocols of the Elders of Zion are mentioned. Finally, the intent is made to understand and comprehend the meaning of anti-Semitism by interpreting its psychological, psychoanalytical and sociological elements, including a brief study of the newest form of anti-Semitism carried out by some fundamentalists Muslim groups.
