Este trabajo considera el valor simbólico del traslado del tesoro desde Delos a Atenas, para urdir en torno una serie de sucesos históricos del s. V a. C., relacionados con los cambios dramáticos en la esfera del poder, la sociedad y la economía. Estos tres elementos son, a su vez, examinados y puestos a prueba mediante la filología, la etimología y la semántica. Porque la palabra tiene aquí el papel fundamental de guía y síntesis del relato que nos proponemos realizar. De este relato surge con mayor nitidez, según creemos, una explicación de la circulación del dinero y las riquezas.
Los impuestos, por consiguiente, aparecen en esta trama que se urde entre el poder, la sociedad y la economía.

This paper considers the symbolic value of the transfer of the treasure from Delos to Athens to plot around a series of historical events of the s. V BC related to dramatic changes in the sphere of power, society and the economy. These three elements are, in turn, examined and tested through philology, etymology, and semantics. Because these words have the fundamental role of guiding and synthesizing the story that we intend to make manifest here. From this account, we believe, an explanation of the circulation of money and wealth emerges more clearly. Taxes, therefore, appear in this plot that is woven between power, society and the economy.
