En el archivo de música de la Catedral de Jaén se conserva un libro de polifonía no catalogado que muestra ciertas singularidades con respecto al resto de la colección. La mayoría de sus folios fueron copiados por un agustino llamado Fr. Manuel López de Santa Rita en 1778; sin embargo, el cantoral incluye varias hojas más antiguas con un himno atribuido a «Joannis Riscos» y fragmentos en canto llano. En el presente trabajo estudiaremos la confección y contenido de este manuscrito, proponiendo algunas hipótesis a propósito de su origen y contexto. Además, completaremos la investigación con el análisis y edición crítica de la primera de sus obras: la antífona Asperges me a 4 voces.
In the music archive of Jaén cathedral there is a non-catalogued polyphonic book that shows certain singularities with respect to the rest of the collection. Most of its pages were copied by an Augustinian named Fr. Manuel López de Santa Rita in 1778; however, the choirbook includes several older sheets with a hymn attributed to “Joannis Riscos” and fragments in plainchant. In the present work we will study the making and content of this manuscript, proposing some hypotheses regarding its origin and context. In addition, we will complete the research with the analysis and critical edition of the first of its pieces: the antiphon Asperges me for 4 voices.
