    La colección de libros de coro de la Catedral de Jaén (España) es un patrimonio histórico y religioso singular y tanto los materiales con los que se fabricaron estos grandes libros, como su uso durante siglos, enriquecen nuestra historia e identidad cultural. Se presenta un nuevo estudio que surge de la necesidad de conocer el estado en que los libros se encuentran. Anteriormente, diferentes especialistas han estudiado su música, historia y uso litúrgico, pero es necesario realizar un análisis interdisciplinar que aporte nuevos datos sobre sus materiales y estado de conservación. La investigación comenzó con unas jornadas teórico-prácticas realizadas hace una década en las que participaron profesores y estudiantes de las Universidades de Jaén y Sevilla, así como otros especialistas internacionales. Entonces se hizo una aproximación al estado de esta cuestión, que se ha actualizado para este artículo. Se planificarán nuevas fases para profundizar en el conocimiento y mejorar la conservación de esta espléndida colección de libros de coro.

    The Cathedral of Jaén (Spain) collection of choir books represents an unique historical and religious heritage. Both the materials with which these great large and great books were made and the use they have had over centuries enrich our history and cultural identity. A new study is presented emerging from the need to know the state in which the books are. The music, history and liturgical use of these choir books were previously studied by different specialists, becoming necessary to carried out an interdisciplinary analysis in order to provide new information about their materials and state of conservation. This research began with a theoretical and practical conference held a decade ago where professors and students from the Universities of Jaén and Seville participated, together with other international specialists. At that moment, an initial approach to the state of conservation was made, approach that have been updated in this paper we present. New phases will be planned to deepen in the knowledge and to improve the state of conservation of this splendid collection of choir books
