In spite of its seemingly childish appearance, El bosque animado reveals a world reminiscent of fairy tales, but, at the same time, of a mythologic substratum. No doubt Cecebre’s heather recreates an animated –inhabited by “animas”– and extraordinary world. In the forest, the space where Eros and Thanatos coexist, characters with mythological beings’ features interact with each other. In its argumentation, the text addresses a filmical analysis of Cuerda’s feature film, emphasizing the mythological reminiscences remarked beforehand. At the end of the day, a myth is nothing but an extraordinary world with stories that fly from mouth to mouth.
