    El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar la asociación entre hábitos relacionados con la salud y la composición corporal en adolescentes. Participaron 1563 estudiantes procedentes de diferentes institutos de Educación Secundaria de Extremadura, con edades comprendidas entre los 12-16 años (chicos: 13.12 ± .89;

    chicas: 13.04 ± .82). Las principales variables del estudio fueron la actividad física, el tiempo sedentario de pantalla, índice de masa corporal, perímetro del cuello y ratio cintura-altura. Los resultados demostraron que los chicos obtuvieron un nivel más elevado de actividad física y capacidad cardiorrespiratoria que las chicas, mientras que las chicas, mostraron menores parámetros corporales que los chicos.

    Los resultados revelaron una asociación positiva entre el aumento de la actividad física y la reducción de los parámetros corporales. En conclusión, es de vital importancia la combinación de comportamientos saludables con el fin de prevenir el sobrepeso y obesidad y adquirir un estilo de vida saludable en los jóvenes.
