Origen y comportamiento del formante -exit en español

    En este trabajo se presenta un análisis del comportamiento morfológico y semántico del formante de origen inglés -exit. Esta aféresis cuyo origen se sitúa en el término Brexit parece haberse convertido en ese idioma en un elemento productivo para la lexicogénesis y el objetivo de este trabajo es comprobar si también posee esa capacidad en español, en particular, en el lenguaje periodístico. Las conclusiones son que este elemento sí tiene presencia en los neologismos en la prensa principalmente con fines expresivos. El valor adquirido en español es de ‘salida de x de una institución u organización’, pero en especial con un matiz negativo ‘salida brusca, drástica, unilateral’. Su comportamiento morfológico sitúa a este formante, al igual que otros similares como -gate o -landia, en el límite entre procesos de formación y por ello parece más preciso denominarle sufijoide.

    In this paper, an analysis of the morphological and semantic behaviour of the English formant -exit is presented. This apheresis, whose origin is located in the term Brexit, seems to have become a productive element for word creation. Therefore, the objective of this work is to find out it this element also has the same capacity in Spanish, in particular, in journalistic language. The conclusions are that -exit does have a presence in neologisms in the Spanish press mainly for expressive purposes. The semantic value acquired in Spanish is ‘exit of x from an institution or organization’, but especially with a negative nuance ‘abrupt, drastic, unilateral exit’. Its morphological behaviour places this element, like others such as -gate or -landia, at the limit between formation processes and therefore it seems more accurate to call it a suffixoid.
