  La calidad es inherente a la educación; las Instituciones de Educación Superior –IES- tienen como responsabilidad social la calidad en sus funciones y, dada la dinámica de la educación, se requiere un proceso donde la calidad como cultura institucional sea una vivencia en la cual participen todos los actores del proceso educativo.De esta manera, el quehacer diario debe ser un proceso permanente de mejoramiento. El esfuerzo consistirá en vencer la resistencia al cambio y la confiabilidad se logrará cuando se enfoque el trabajo en hacer lo que conviene a la organización como un todo.Este trabajo sugiere una metodología que permite la participación de todos los miembros de una IES en la construcción de respuestas a: ¿Qué cambiar? ¿Hacia dónde cambiar? y ¿Cómo inducir el cambio? que se presentan en un proceso de mejoramiento, así mismo presenta un método para mantener el enfoque y vencer la resistencia al cambio.

  Quality is inherent to education. The higher education institutions have the quality as a social responsibility, and because of the dynamics of education, it is required a process where the quality is lived as an institutional culture, in which all the actors of the educative process participate. If quality is an institutional culture, the daily work is a permanent improvement process. The real work is to overcome the change resistance and the confidence will be reached when all the efforts are focused in doing what is convenient for the organization as a whole. This paper shows a methodology for a collective construction, in a higher education institution, to identify what to change in the organization, what to change it into, and how to implement the change, questions that are present in an improvement process. It also shows a method for focusing the efforts for overcoming the change resistance.
